Changing lives through horses is a British Horse Society character building alternative education programme, specifically designed for young people (aged 5-25) who may be disengaged from mainstream education or facing social, emotional, or mental health challenges.

It aims to inspire young people who are disadvantaged or disengaged to develop life skills and learning through working with horses.

The programme uses the unique bond between horse and human to develop vital life skills.
Through hands-on stable management and horsemanship, participants build:

  • Resilience & Confidence: Overcoming challenges in a supportive, non-classroom environment.

  • Communication: Learning to interact with horses leads to improved social skills and emotional regulation.

  • Responsibility: Caring for a living animal fosters a sense of purpose and accountability.

  • Personal Growth: Developing a "growth mindset" that transfers back into school and daily life.

CLTH Sessions are currently run one to one, but if you are a school or you have a group we would be happy to quote for bespoke group packages.

One to one:

  • 1 Hour £50

  • 1 Hour 30 Minutes £75

Sessions can be funded privately, or funding can be sought through a EHCP or your local council.

We are registered in ERYC for alternative education provision.
